‘Why Should I Betray Kwankwaso?’ – Old Video Of Gov Yusuf Resurfaces.
According to Nivo News, an old video of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, affirming his loyalty to his political mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resurfaced and gone viral amid rising political tension in the state over reports of a possible defection to the All Progressives Congress.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The footage, which dates back to around July 2024, has attracted renewed attention as speculation intensifies that the governor may be considering a move away from the New Nigeria Peoples Party later this month. The video was recorded during a late-night interaction with journalists at the Government House in Kano.
In the recording, Yusuf firmly dismissed claims of a strained relationship with Kwankwaso, describing such narratives as divisive and misleading. He reacted to the emergence of the “Abba Tsaya da Kafarka” movement, a slogan widely interpreted at the time as a call for him to distance himself politically from his benefactor.
The governor argued that suggestions urging him to stand alone amounted to an insult, both to his leadership and to the achievements of his administration. He stressed that loyalty remains a core value in his political journey and within Kano’s political culture, crediting Kwankwaso’s support as instrumental to his emergence as governor.
Yusuf questioned the logic behind any perceived betrayal, stating that while divine providence made his governorship possible, Kwankwaso’s backing played a decisive role. He accused proponents of the independence narrative of attempting to create unnecessary discord and maintained that his primary focus remained governance and service delivery.
The governor also used the video to refute reports that he had been avoiding calls from Kwankwaso. He explained that he refrained from taking legal action against a media organisation that published the claim out of respect for the journalism profession and his desire to maintain a constructive relationship with the media.
The renewed circulation of the video comes as Yusuf has remained silent on the defection rumours, further fuelling political speculation across Kano State. Meanwhile, Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has publicly rejected calls urging the governor to defect to the APC, warning that such a move would have serious political consequences.

Total War In Football: UEFA, AFC, And Concacaf Unleash Blistering ‘Deception’ Attack On FIFA!.
In a joint open letter released on August 10, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and Concacaf launched a scathing critique against FIFA and its president, Gianni Infantino, accusing them of breaking the trust of football institutions through deception.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Core Dispute: The FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE)
The controversy centers around FIFA’s abandoned FFE proposal, which aimed to establish a new company to manage the commercial and ticketing rights of FIFA competitions—including the World Cup—with a 21 percent stake intended for sale to a private investment firm. The plan was ultimately scrapped following heavy backlash and boycott threats led by UEFA.
While FIFA previously defended itself by condemning efforts to “undermine” leadership and announced an internal review to report to the FIFA Council in October, the three confederations rejected this approach. They argued that proper governance demands an independent third-party investigation rather than a self-review by FIFA staff or stakeholders.
Governance and Lack of Consultation
The three bodies emphasized that the dispute is not financially motivated, but rather concerns institutional integrity, power execution, and stakeholder consultation. They criticized FIFA for pushing the FFE proposal through a compressed timeline designed to avoid proper scrutiny, pointing out that a leadership meeting in Morocco regarding the matter lacked participation from Member Associations or FIFA Council members, featuring only FIFA-employed senior staff.
Concluding their letter with a call for accountability, the confederations urged the global football community to honor unity and demand leadership that serves the game rather than commanding it.
