Terrorists Strike Again In Niger, Kill 42, Re-Abduct Freed Schoolchildren.
Fresh violence has rocked parts of Niger State as terrorists reportedly killed dozens of residents and abducted several villagers, including schoolchildren who were only recently released from captivity.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, the latest attack occurred on Saturday when heavily armed gunmen invaded Kasuwan Daji and Kaima villages in Agwara Local Government Area, killing no fewer than 42 people, among them women and children. The attackers were said to have looted food supplies, set markets ablaze and abducted many residents during the coordinated assault.
Residents disclosed that the assailants emerged from the Kainji National Park axis and took several people into captivity, including some students of St Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri who had regained their freedom just days earlier.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that 37 people were killed in Kasuwan Daji, while five others lost their lives in Kaima village. The attackers reportedly crossed into the area from Kebbi State through the River Rofia route, a corridor said to have become a major passage for repeated raids on rural communities.
The assault followed a string of recent security breaches in the region. Only days earlier, bandits fleeing a military operation in Kwara State allegedly attacked Gebe and Goro villages, killing two people and destroying more than 15 houses. Terrorists were also said to have overrun a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps checkpoint in Wawa, Borgu Local Government Area, carting away arms after security personnel retreated.
Confirming the latest killings, the Catholic Diocese of Kontagora disclosed that more than 40 people were killed during the attacks. The diocese revealed that its parish priest narrowly escaped abduction when terrorists stormed a mission house days earlier, vandalising religious items and making away with cash and motorbikes.
Residents of the affected communities lamented that fear has forced many families, including relatives of the abducted students, to abandon their homes and sleep in nearby bushes for safety.
The Niger State Police Command also confirmed the incident, stating that over 30 people were killed when suspected bandits invaded Kasuwan Daji on Saturday evening, burnt the market and looted shops. The police added that joint security teams had been deployed to the area and that efforts were ongoing to rescue those abducted, with further updates expected.

Democratic Reimagining or Factional Warfare? The Strategic Implications of Dumebi Kachikwu’s 2027 ADC Ticket
The internal machinery of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) continues to evolve ahead of the 2027 general elections, marked by the formal adoption of Dumebi Kachikwu as the presidential candidate for the Abdulkkadir Mohammed Bashir faction. Coming on the heels of a highly volatile primary season, the convention in Abuja sought to establish structural legitimacy, with Electoral Committee Chairman Elias Adikwu ratifying Kachikwu’s nomination to an audience of supportive party delegates.
Kachikwu’s acceptance speech skipped standard political platitudes, focusing heavily on class disparity and institutional paralysis. By reframing the identity of the “common man” against the backdrop of Nigeria’s current economic struggles, Kachikwu is positioning his platform as a direct intervention against the traditional political elite. His assertion that administrative complaints must give way to a literal takeover of the driver’s seat in Aso Villa outlines a high-stakes campaign strategy aimed at tapping into deep voter fatigue ahead of the 2027 cycle.

THE COST OF COOKING: Inside The Brutal Market Surge Pushing Everyday Gas Beyond The Reach Of Millions!.
The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) has raised a major alarm over chaotic supply drops and skyrocketing cooking gas prices, warning that the crisis could trigger a massive public backlash against gas station owners. A new statement signed by National President Edu Inyang and Executive Secretary Bassey Essien reveals that cooking gas has officially shattered the ₦1,500 per kg mark in multiple regions, with some dealers hiking prices up to ₦2,000. Marketers are currently being forced to shell out a staggering ₦25.2 million to ₦26.2 million just to secure a single 20-metric-tonne truck.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
NALPGAM labeled the economic squeeze “pathetic,” warning that persistent shortages, soaring depot rates, and logistics bottlenecks are completely destroying Nigeria’s clean energy gains. With millions of households and small businesses priced out, vulnerable families are rapidly abandoning gas cylinders and reverting to unhealthy firewood and charcoal. The association is making a passionate appeal to the Federal Government, NNPC, and regulatory bodies to intervene immediately before the market completely collapses and triggers severe food inflation and job losses.

KITCHEN EMERGENCIES: 5 Shocking Bombshells From Gas Marketers as Prices Explode Past ₦1,500/Kg
The Rebellion Warning: NALPGAM warns that if the government fails to check the crazy price hikes immediately, frustrated citizens might turn their anger against gas station owners.
The ₦2,000 Extreme: While the official average price has blown past ₦1,500 per kg, field checks reveal desperate retailers are selling the product for as high as ₦1,600 to ₦2,000 in certain locations.
The Depot Nightmare: Marketers expose the crushing operational costs behind the surge, revealing they now pay up to ₦26.2 million for a 20-metric-tonne supply.
The Environmental Setback: Years of clean energy progress are officially under threat as low-income families ditch their cylinders for deforestation-heavy firewood and charcoal.
The SOS to Government: Marketers are calling for an emergency intervention from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the NNPC to boost domestic allocation and crash the retail rates.

The Collapse of the Clean Energy Dream: Why the Cooking Gas Price Surge is a National Security Threat
Nigeria’s decades-long transition toward sustainable, clean cooking energy is on the verge of a total systemic collapse. A severe joint warning issued by the leadership of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) details a grim macroeconomic reality: cooking gas, once positioned as an affordable social item, has transformed into an elitist luxury selling for well over ₦1,500 per kilogram.
The logistics and supply chain crisis is hitting both ends of the market. While terminal and depot costs force marketers to risk millions on single shipments, the end consumers are simply voting with their wallets by returning to primitive biomass fuels like charcoal and firewood. NALPGAM’s warning that citizens may turn on retail infrastructure highlights the volatile undercurrents of the current economic hardship. For the Federal Government and regulatory bodies like NMDPRA, this is a clear call to eliminate importation bottlenecks and structurally overhaul domestic storage infrastructure before inflation completely decimates small-scale retail industries.

Political Thuggery vs. Democracy: The Dangerous Escalation Behind the Assault on Senator Ireti Kingibe
The recent violent assault on the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, at the ADC National Assembly primary serves as a chilling reminder of the thuggery still threatening Nigeria’s democratic structures. In a detailed statement, Kingibe outlined what she terms a “premeditated ambush” at the party’s Gudu secretariat—an event that rapidly degenerated from a standard administrative oversight into a hostage situation and a physical assault on a sitting lawmaker.
The anatomy of the attack reveals a calculated attempt to suppress transparency through raw intimidation. From the assault on the committee chairman to the violent seizure of a recording device from a female aspirant, the perpetrators displayed an absolute disregard for party hierarchy and state security. With Senator Kingibe now recovering from head trauma and lodging formal complaints with the Inspector General of Police, this incident moves beyond a routine intra-party feud; it stands as a critical litmus test for the FCT Police Command’s ability to swiftly prosecute political actors who attempt to replace the ballot box with violence.
