Published

on

According to Nivo News, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has accused certain political actors of orchestrating a campaign to tarnish his reputation, dismissing claims linking him to terrorism financing as baseless and politically motivated. Mohammed made the remarks on Thursday during an interview on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television, stressing that Bauchi remains one of the safest states in the North-East and that there is no justification for associating him with insecurity or banditry.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The governor directly named Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as being behind attempts to malign him, describing the allegations as damaging and capable of ruining his political career. He also claimed that efforts were made to implicate his relatives in corruption cases, which he denied, and said he had written to the Attorney General of the Federation and relevant security agencies while considering escalating the matter to the international community for protection.

Mohammed further accused individuals close to President Bola Tinubu of pressuring him to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and described Wike as an “undertaker” within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that he was undermining the party from within.

In response, Wike, during a visit to Rivers State, dismissed Mohammed’s allegations, calling them an attempt to deflect attention from his own political challenges. The FCT minister denied any involvement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or any pressure against Mohammed’s associates, insisting that the Bauchi governor’s difficulties were self-inflicted and strictly related to party leadership matters, not personal finances or governance. Wike urged Mohammed to “face his problems” and leave him out of the dispute.
