A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Farouk Aliyu, has dismissed claims that the APC is responsible for the internal crises in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During an interview on ‘Sunrise Daily’ on Channels Television, Aliyu stated that the PDP is experiencing internal conflicts of its own making, which, according to him, incidentally benefits the APC. He emphasized that neither the APC nor President Bola Tinubu is interested in turning Nigeria into a one-party state.

“No, we in the APC don’t have plans to make this country a one-party state. I can confirm that neither the president nor the party leadership is behind the problems in PDP,” Aliyu said.

He recalled the PDP’s convention in 2023, explaining that disputes over the party’s presidential ticket and vice-presidential candidate selection created divisions within the party. Aliyu pointed out that Atiku Abubakar’s initial choice of Nyesom Wike as running mate was later changed, sparking internal conflict.

“These problems in PDP are of their own making, not APC’s. Naturally, if PDP struggles internally, it benefits APC, but the issues are theirs, not ours,” he added.
