According to Nivo News, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended members of what he described as the “cabal” within his administration, saying their collective efforts have been central to the achievements recorded by his government so far.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The governor made the remarks on Sunday during a public function in his hometown, where he openly acknowledged his association with a cabal and praised its effectiveness in driving governance outcomes. He disclosed that the leader of the group was approved by his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello.

Ododo maintained that teamwork should be encouraged, regardless of the label attached to it, as long as it produces tangible results. He expressed pride in the group, noting that one of its notable accomplishments was the project scheduled for commissioning at the event.

Reflecting on his political experience, the governor said he had previously been part of a cabal but admitted that the current one under his leadership had performed more efficiently. He added that if such groups deliver results, their existence should not be discouraged.

“I want to formally appreciate the leader of my own cabal. I was a member of a cabal before, but our own cabal could not perform the way this present cabal is working,” Ododo said. “If any cabal can work like this, I think we should even have multiple cabals, as many as we can.”

He further stated that he was unapologetic about having a cabal, stressing that its impact was evident in the development projects being delivered by his administration.

The governor identified the leader of the group as Hajiya Dr Habibat Tijjani Aliyu, FCMA, noting that her appointment was approved by former Governor Yahaya Bello.

Ododo added that the cabal comprises key government officials, including the Accountant-General, Auditor-General, party chairman, Special Adviser on Protocol, and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.
