Faleke, who also chairs the House Committee on Finance, claimed that all necessary strategies were deployed to frustrate Tinubu’s chances at the polls. He made the allegation while speaking to journalists during the supervision of rice distribution at the annual Christmas outreach for the less privileged and supporters of President Tinubu, organised by the Tinubu Support Group in Abuja.
While addressing attendees, Faleke described President Tinubu as divinely chosen to lead Nigeria, stressing that several obstacles were deliberately placed in his path prior to the election. He recalled the period of acute cash scarcity that followed the currency redesign, noting that many Nigerians struggled to meet basic needs due to the unavailability of cash.
According to him, the election was conducted under extremely harsh conditions, with voters enduring severe financial hardship as a result of the naira policy. Despite these challenges, Faleke said Tinubu prevailed at the polls, attributing his victory to divine intervention rather than political manoeuvres.
He added that against all odds and efforts to undermine his candidacy, Tinubu went on to win the election, describing the outcome as a triumph over forces determined to block his emergence as president.
