Taraba Judicial Commission Promotes 535 Staff, Demotes Two Officials.

In addition to the promotions, the commission confirmed several senior appointments and took disciplinary action by demoting two officers.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday in Jalingo by Hajia Talatu Abubakar, Secretary to the Commission, following the 125th meeting chaired by the Chief Judge of Taraba State, Justice Joel Agya.
The statement noted that the commission unanimously adopted the report of its Promotion Sub-Committee, approving the advancement of 535 staff across various cadres in the Taraba State Judiciary.
On disciplinary matters, the commission sanctioned Assauten Abason, a Senior Magistrate II (Grade Level 13), by stripping him of his judicial functions and demoting him to Senior Registrar (Grade Level 10), effective December 19, 2025. He was also recalled to the High Court Headquarters for a period of two years.
Another officer, William Jakwanti, was demoted from Registrar I (Grade Level 9) to Assistant Registrar (Grade Level 7). The commission further directed his recall to headquarters and ordered him to refund N40,000 to one Musa Audu.
