Wabara stated that the party would readily offer Otti its ticket for a second-term bid, describing the governor as a valuable political figure whose performance in office has earned him admiration beyond party boundaries. He made the remarks on Sunday in Umuahia while addressing journalists shortly after the launch of the Abia State 25-Year Development Plan by the state government.

He noted that Otti’s achievements in governance have positioned him as a sought-after political figure, attracting interest from multiple parties ahead of the 2027 elections. According to him, this growing appeal is directly linked to the governor’s record in office, which he said would play a significant role in shaping electoral outcomes.

Wabara also highlighted ongoing efforts by the PDP’s National Working Committee, led by Senator Tanimu Turaki, aimed at repositioning and rebranding the party to strengthen its credibility and electoral prospects nationwide.

Emphasising the South-East’s historical ties to the PDP, Wabara said the region remains a strong base for the party, adding that Otti’s potential defection would further consolidate the PDP’s influence and help restore the zone’s prominence in national politics.

He further disclosed that the party leadership is intensifying consultations and strategic moves to attract progressive and reform-minded individuals capable of driving the PDP forward ahead of future political contests.
