The United States Embassy in Nigeria has honoured five Nigerian content creators for their exceptional contributions to the ‘Made in America, Loved in Nigeria’ video contest. The winners included Rasheedat Fagbenle, who received the grand prize, alongside Tito Abumere, Janefrancis Odinkemma Ugwu from Abuja, Cyril Usheshe from Cross River State, and Timileyin Durotoye from Osun State.
Lee McManis, Country Public Diplomacy Counsellor at the US Embassy in Abuja, said the contest was created to deepen economic and cultural engagement between the United States and Nigeria. He highlighted the presence of over 100 major American companies operating in Nigeria, emphasizing that the growing economic relationship continues to yield benefits for both countries.
“This contest is more than a showcase of American products and brands. It celebrates the enduring partnership between the United States and Nigeria—a partnership built on commerce, mutual respect, and shared commitment to progress,” McManis stated.
Reacting to her win, 21-year-old Rasheedat Fagbenle, a final-year Political Science student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, expressed excitement and gratitude, describing the recognition as a significant boost to her creative journey.
