The book, authored by Dr. Charles Omole and launched on December 15, 2025, at the State House in Abuja, provides insight into why Buhari maintained a close relationship with Daura despite public scrutiny and internal criticism. Fatima Buhari emphasized that the connection was rooted not in politics, but in family and history.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

“Mamman Daura’s father shared the same mother as my father,” she explained, describing the two men as brothers in the African sense. The relationship was further strengthened during Buhari’s three-year detention following the 1985 coup, a period when Daura remained the family’s primary point of contact while others, including wives and children, were denied access. Fatima recalled her childhood confusion over this closeness, asking, “Why always Mamman between Baba and the family?”

Fatima described her father’s loyalty as a double-edged sword, noting that once Buhari extended trust, it was difficult for him to withdraw it without “overwhelming evidence.” She revealed that Buhari was aware of Daura’s missteps, stating, “Baba will personally tell us that he did this, he did that to him, but he’s still with him.”

Rather than public reprimands, Buhari preferred private corrections, aiming to shield individuals from disgrace. According to Fatima, this approach sometimes allowed Daura and others to exploit their familial ties, committing numerous wrongs before Buhari fully recognized the consequences.

The biography portrays Buhari in his later years as increasingly guided by empathy and religious faith, mindful of relationships and reluctant to extinguish hope. “He understands the web of relationships — parents, spouses, histories — and he doesn’t want to break hope,” Fatima noted.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.
