The arrests, carried out on Saturday, December 13, 2025, followed intelligence‑driven surveillance targeting criminal networks supplying weapons to bandits within the state. Initial operations led to the capture of a suspected arms courier, whose subsequent interrogation resulted in the arrest of a notorious kidnapping kingpin in the same area.

The suspects were identified as Abubakar Mohammed Lawal, from Yamatawa village in Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State, and Abubakar Manu, from Oro‑Ago village in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Police officers recovered a black Bagco bag containing items reportedly meant for delivery to bandits hiding in the Oro‑Ago forest. Confiscated materials included a military camouflage water bag, a black rechargeable torchlight, a black face cap, and five Baofeng walkie‑talkies.

The suspects confessed that the consignment originated from Jos in Plateau State and was transported through the Kano State Motor Park in Ilorin before their capture. They revealed that the items were destined for a notorious bandit leader identified as Nagala Danladi, who allegedly commands more than 300 armed bandits operating in the Oro‑Ago axis of Kwara State.

Further investigation indicated that the suspects are part of a larger criminal network operating across Kano, Kwara, and Niger states, supplying arms and ammunition to multiple gangs terrorizing communities in the region.

  • Support for Leadership: She concluded by reaffirming her loyalty and prayers for the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, his family, and the broader RCCG leadership, while wishing the global church a successful convention and urging members to stay focused and united.
