“Stop The Drama: Former ALGON Chair Slams Shaibu Over Clash With Omobayo”.
According to Nivo News, a former Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Isiah Osifo, has stated that there is no legitimate reason for the ongoing dispute between Philip Shaibu and Marvellous Omobayo, both of whom served as deputy governors under former Governor Godwin Obaseki.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Shaibu, who was impeached by the Edo State House of Assembly after a breakdown in relations with Obaseki, was replaced by Omobayo. Although Shaibu later obtained a court judgment voiding his removal, he was not returned to office before the administration ended last year.
Fresh tensions surfaced recently when Shaibu reportedly objected to Omobayo being introduced as a former deputy governor during a public event, a moment Osifo described as unnecessary and embarrassing.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Osifo stressed that both men occupied the same office at different periods and should not be in conflict. He noted that the constitution clearly outlines the process for nominating a deputy governor, adding that Omobayo, like Shaibu, was duly selected by the same governor.
Osifo questioned why Shaibu was personalizing the issue, insisting that Omobayo played no role in his impeachment and merely benefited from decisions taken by a legally constituted government. He maintained that no protest or argument can erase the historical fact that Omobayo once held the office of deputy governor.
While acknowledging Shaibu’s right to challenge his removal, Osifo urged him not to channel his grievances at Omobayo. He further appealed for peace between the two politicians, emphasizing that both men hail from Edo North.

EXTORTION OR ELECTION? Cross River Demands ₦150 Million Just For Presidential Campaign Billboards!.
The Cross River State Signage and Advertisement Agency (CRISSAA) has announced a new mandatory tariff structure for outdoor campaign advertisements ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Under the new guidelines, presidential candidates are required to pay ₦150 million, while governorship hopefuls face a ₦100 million fee. The tiered structure continues with senatorial candidates at ₦50 million, House of Representatives candidates at ₦25 million, and State House of Assembly candidates at ₦5 million.
Speaking to the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Calabar, CRISSAA Director-General Ubong Sam stated the new rates are intended to regulate advertising spaces and ensure fairness. He also mandated that all campaign materials be removed within 30 days of election results being announced, warning that failure to comply or pay the required fees could result in fines exceeding one million naira per violation, enforced by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
While the Cross River State Chairman of IPAC, Engr. Effiom Edet, deemed the fees fair, the announcement has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Democratic Party (ADP) have rejected the tariffs as excessive, arguing that such high costs are a deliberate attempt to price smaller parties and less-resourced candidates out of the outdoor advertising market.

THE UNTOLD TRUTH: Sheikh Gumi Drops Bombshell, Reveals Why Military Force Can Never Defeat Insecurity!.
Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has emphasized that military force alone cannot resolve Nigeria’s security challenges, asserting that the nation must simultaneously tackle the root economic, social, and governance issues that enable criminal networks to operate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sharing his perspective in a social media statement, Gumi urged citizens and leaders to look past isolated attacks and examine the systemic factors fueling the crisis. Among the core issues highlighted are deficiencies in formal education, declining moral standards, and the widening economic disparity between wealthy elites and impoverished citizens, which he warns breeds deep-seated resentment and frustration.
While acknowledging the necessity of stronger security measures—such as expanded territorial army divisions and the deployment of forest guards to secure vulnerable rural areas—Gumi maintained that physical force is only part of the solution. He stressed that lasting peace requires holistic reforms, including greater investment in youth development, poverty reduction, and improved governance in regions where state presence remains weak.
