Fresh Leadership In Nasarawa Police: Ahmed-Chuso Vows Tougher Crime Fight.
According to Nivo News, the Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed that Umar Ahmed-Chuso has officially taken over as the 30th Commissioner of Police in the state. A statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Rahman Nansel, described Ahmed-Chuso as an officer with vast operational experience, strong administrative competence and a distinguished record of service. Nansel noted that the new Commissioner has called on residents to maintain their cooperation with the police to strengthen efforts aimed at tackling crime and enhancing overall security in the state.
Ahmed-Chuso, a native of Sokoto South Local Government Area, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He joined the Nigeria Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a Cadet ASP and was trained at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.
Throughout his career, he has held several critical positions, including Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College in Jos; Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Kano; Deputy Commissioner of Police (CID), Kano; and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), Delta State. He has also served as DPO in various divisions and became the pioneer Area Commander of Argungu in Kebbi State.
His portfolio includes assignments at the Force CID (Interpol) in Abuja, alongside roles such as Divisional Crime Officer, Officer-in-Charge of Pay, and Directing Staff at the Police College, Kaduna. The Command further disclosed that Ahmed-Chuso has participated in several local and international training programmes, including Tactical Leadership and Combat, Citizenship and Leadership Training, Higher Military Strategy at the Army War College in Abuja, and a Human Rights Protection course at Texas Southern University, Houston. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Police Studies.
Nansel added that the Commissioner is urging traditional rulers, community leaders, youth organisations and religious bodies to provide timely intelligence that can help prevent crime and ensure prompt response to potential threats. He assured residents of the Command’s renewed dedication to safeguarding lives and property and maintaining peace across Nasarawa State.

News reports that she reacted to the incident in a Facebook post on Wednesday, where she admitted responsibility and expressed regret over the controversy.
Sisi Alagbo said she was deeply sorry to anyone who felt hurt or disappointed by the video.
In her words, “I own my mistakes, and I apologise with all sincerity for the video circulating online. I am deeply sorry to everyone who felt disappointed in me.”
She also disclosed that the backlash has had a serious impact on her emotional health, saying she has been unable to eat or sleep properly since the video went viral.
“I am already passing through a lot. I can’t eat or sleep for days. Even sleeping medicines aren’t working for me any longer,” she said.
Appealing for forgiveness and understanding, she added, “Please forgive me. I don’t want to injure myself. I only have a little strength left.”
The incident adds to a growing trend of leaked private videos involving public figures in Nigeria, with personalities such as Tiwa Savage and Moyo Lawal previously facing similar situations.
