The incident, which occurred at about 1:30 p.m., triggered immediate response from his aides and security team, who swiftly moved him to the hospital’s emergency department for urgent medical attention.
Although an official statement is yet to be released, insiders within Government House suggested that the sudden health crisis may be linked to a possible cardiac concern. A source familiar with the matter hinted that the deputy governor’s demanding work schedule might have contributed, noting, “He’s a workaholic; he should find time to rest.”
Medical personnel at FMC were said to have stabilised Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who is currently receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit. Security operatives have secured the hospital premises, restricting access while treatment continues.
Senior government officials were spotted arriving at the facility to assess the deputy governor’s condition, even as attempts to reach his media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, were unsuccessful as of press time.
Another source within the hospital assured that the deputy governor is receiving top-level medical attention and remains in stable condition.
