El-Rufai Dumps APC, Storms ADC In Major Political Shake-Up.
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has formally enlisted into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant political shift months after severing ties with the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Nivo News, El-Rufai completed his registration on Thursday at the ADC office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna, where he was issued his membership card.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The former governor was observed filling out official documents before receiving the card, a move political watchers describe as a strategic re-entry into opposition politics with strong grassroots visibility. His defection comes eight months after he openly declared that deepening ideological differences between him and the APC leadership prompted his departure.
In a resignation letter earlier circulated in public space, El-Rufai accused the APC of straying from its founding convictions. He insisted that the party’s current leaders had shown no willingness to address what he described as worsening internal distortions.
“Developments in the last two years confirm that there is no desire on the part of those who currently control and run the APC to acknowledge, much less address the unhealthy situation of the party,” he had asserted.
El-Rufai, one of the architects of the 2013 merger that created the APC, lamented that the party had, over the years, drifted from the vision of its founding coalition. He maintains that his repeated warnings—both in closed-door engagements and public platforms—were disregarded by the leadership in the past two years.
