“Prayers Hold Nigeria Together” — Pastor Oladele Slams Social Media Attacks On Religious Leader.

Published

on

The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Oladele, has cautioned Nigerians—particularly social media users—against making disparaging remarks about Christian leaders amid the nation’s escalating security concerns. According to Nivo News, the cleric issued the warning during the dedication and handover service of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Restoration, in Osogbo, Osun State, a sanctuary donated by Prof. and Mrs. ’Siji Olamiju.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his sermon, Oladele stressed that consistent prayers offered by spiritual leaders have played a vital role in preventing Nigeria from falling into chaos. He referenced a recent social media post where the writer made insulting comments about Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Pastor William Kumuyi, and Bishop David Oyedepo, accusing them of failing to halt insecurity through prayers. Oladele dismissed such criticisms, maintaining that Nigeria’s respected spiritual figures continually intercede for the nation.

He explained that true ministers are guided by Scripture rather than reactions from online critics. According to him, the Bible instructs believers to pray for those in authority rather than tear them down. He emphasised that many battles are won through prayer, not through confrontational or disruptive behaviour, urging citizens to support national leaders with prayers instead of ridicule.

Oladele expressed concern that societal mockery has become widespread, noting that critics often refuse to acknowledge the efforts of religious leaders. While insisting that clergymen are not perfect, he affirmed that many remain devoted to praying for Nigeria’s peace and stability. He urged citizens to uphold cultural values of respect, particularly toward elders and spiritual leaders.

Addressing Nigerians of all faiths, Oladele said the nation must continue to depend on God, adding that Nigeria’s survival despite numerous challenges is proof of divine intervention. He called on Christians to reflect God’s values wherever they find themselves, saying this is essential for maintaining national harmony.

Earlier in the programme, the donor, Prof. Olamiju, said the church was built as an expression of gratitude to God after he miraculously survived a severe medical challenge. He pledged continued support for initiatives that promote the gospel, encouraging Nigerians to embrace love and mutual respect.

The event was attended by former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande; former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Timothy Owoeye; former federal lawmaker, Ajibola Famurewa; traditional rulers; and church leaders from across Osun State and beyond.

Social media has increasingly become a platform for faceless individuals to target clerics with defamatory remarks. Earlier this year, a Christian youth organisation urged security agencies to intensify efforts to trace and prosecute those who stoke religious tension online. The group warned that unchecked attacks on religious institutions and leaders could pose serious risks to national unity.

Supporters of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are scheduled to hold a unity summit in Abuja today.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The event, themed “One Voice, One Vision: In Unity We Win,” is being organised by the OK Movement, a group advocating for a possible Obi–Kwankwaso political partnership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A flyer shared on by the group on Friday indicated that eight speakers will feature at the summit.

The lineup includes New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain Buba Galadima, activist Aisha Yesufu, and Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Others billed to speak are Moses Paul, a former African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate, and Adebayo Adefolaseye, the South-West coordinator of the OK Movement.

As of report time, about 428 participants had reportedly registered to attend the gathering.

The summit comes amid rising political speculation that Obi and Kwankwaso may be considering a move from the ADC to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

On Friday night, Kwankwasiyya movement spokesperson Habibu Mohammed stated that both politicians were expected to conclude arrangements for the defection next week.

He said the decision followed unanimous approval by key stakeholders and added that discussions with the NDC were approximately 90 percent complete, with only minor details remaining.

According to him, the two politicians, along with other associates, could formally join the NDC as early as Monday or Tuesday.

“I believe him, Peter Obi, and some others will be joining the NDC,” Mohammed said.

The ongoing leadership crisis within the ADC has been linked to the reported political realignment.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court set aside an earlier order maintaining the status quo in the ADC leadership dispute and referred the case back to the Federal High Court for further hearing, effectively prolonging the uncertainty.

The OK Movement was originally launched in April by supporters of Obi and Kwankwaso to rally backing for a joint 2027 presidential ticket.
