The Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for inciting the killing of Nigerian security personnel through his broadcasts.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to court records, Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Thursday after reviewing multiple terrorism-related charges brought against Kanu by the Federal Government. The judge affirmed that the prosecution successfully demonstrated that Kanu’s 2021 broadcast encouraged attacks on members of Nigeria’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

Justice Omotosho described the broadcast as deliberate and inflammatory, aimed at provoking widespread violence against soldiers, police officers, and other security operatives. He emphasized that the content of the broadcast constituted terrorism under Nigerian law, posing a threat to national security and exacerbating attacks in various parts of the country.

The court also highlighted Count Five of the charges, noting that Kanu had issued another broadcast calling for attacks on not just security personnel but also their families. “In Count Five, he made a broadcast to hunt and kill families of Nigerian security personnel,” the judge stated, describing the act as a clear instigation of violence and an offense punishable under Nigerian anti-terrorism statutes.

Giant made the position known while speaking to journalists after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the primaries scheduled for May 18, 2026.

According to him, the performance of elected officials should be the basis for judgment, leaving the final decision to the electorate.
