Tinubu will first arrive in Johannesburg to participate in the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit. From there, he is scheduled to proceed to Angola for the upcoming AU-EU Summit. His invitation to the G20 event was extended by South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa, who currently chairs the G20 group. The trip follows a similar invitation previously issued by Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during his leadership of the coalition in 2024.
According to Nivo News, the G20 Summit will hold from Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 23, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. The gathering will convene leaders of the world’s top economies, the African Union, the European Union, and key international financial institutions. This year’s theme, “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,” will guide discussions across three plenary sessions focusing on inclusive economic growth, global resilience, disaster risk reduction, climate issues, energy transition, food systems, decent work, artificial intelligence, and critical minerals.
President Tinubu is also expected to engage in a series of bilateral meetings aimed at advancing his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as strengthening efforts toward regional and global peace, security, and development.
Following the G20 gathering, Tinubu will join African and European leaders at the 7th AU-EU Summit scheduled for November 24–25 in Luanda. According to Nivo News, the event will bring together young innovators, civil society groups, and policymakers to address shared challenges related to climate change, infrastructure, digital growth, manufacturing, agribusiness, and inclusive development.
The President will be accompanied on the trip by senior officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed. He is expected to return to Nigeria after the completion of the meetings.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
