Anyanwu Breaks Silence: Wike Has Not Dumped PDP Amid Turbulent Crisis.
A prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, has maintained that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has not abandoned the party despite the deepening internal crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, Anyanwu made the clarification during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, where he also defended his continued association with Wike. He noted that the former Rivers governor played a crucial role in reviving the PDP at a time when the party was struggling for survival.
“When Wike, Makinde, Ugwuanyi, Ikpeazu and Ortom formed the G5, I was not part of it. But Wike remains my close ally. When the PDP was in shambles, he was the one who breathed life back into it,” he stated.
The former PDP governorship candidate in Imo State dismissed claims that the opposition party is on the verge of collapse, insisting that the PDP would weather its current storms and reclaim its standing. He stressed that the party remains resilient, saying, “PDP is not dead, and PDP cannot die. Even someone in an intensive care unit can still recover.”
Anyanwu also accused the immediate past factional national chairman, Umar Damagum, of fueling the party’s ongoing crisis. His remarks came after the recently concluded national convention in Ibadan, which he described as illegal and nothing more than a “jamboree.”
He further alleged that Damagum’s incompetence created several issues within the party’s national structure, especially in Abuja.
