Paystack Co-Founder Suspended Amid Explosive Sexual Misconduct Allegations.

Published

on

The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL) has called on the police to investigate sexual misconduct allegations against Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi, who was recently suspended by the company over claims of inappropriate behaviour.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The suspension, announced by the Stripe-owned payments company on Friday, followed public uproar after a woman previously involved with Olubi shared grievances online. The posts drew attention to old tweets allegedly linked to Olubi, dating back to 2009 and 2013, containing sexually suggestive remarks about colleagues and, in some cases, minors.

The resurfaced messages sparked renewed debates about accountability and the long-term impact of past social media activity. Olubi has since deactivated his X account. Some of the controversial posts included statements that critics described as deeply inappropriate, including references to coworkers and minors.

Paystack confirmed it had initiated a formal investigation. “Paystack is aware of the allegations involving our co-founder, Ezra Olubi. We take matters of this nature extremely seriously. Effective immediately, Ezra has been suspended from all duties and responsibilities pending the outcome of a formal investigation,” the company said, adding that it would not comment further while the probe is ongoing.

CACOL Executive Director Debo Adeniran said the allegations raise serious moral and criminal concerns, especially if minors are involved. “A minor is not capable of seducing an adult who is conscious of his integrity. Once it involves an underage girl, the police should step in and ensure justice is done,” he stated, criticizing any delay by the company in notifying authorities. Adeniran emphasized the need for a thorough police investigation to establish facts and hold any offenders accountable.

The allegations, which remain unproven and under investigation by Paystack, have generated intense public reaction on social media. Users have debated Olubi’s character, the cultural narratives around unconventional brilliance, and whether personal conduct should influence professional recognition. Some commentators have questioned the decision to confer a national honour on Olubi in light of the revelations.

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
