According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu stressed the need to maximise Nigeria’s human, material, and intellectual resources to drive industrialisation, peace, and broad-based prosperity. He urged the course participants to see themselves as agents of positive change, equipped with the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to enhance national power in a dynamic security environment.

The President highlighted the importance of forward-looking patriotism, resilience, and strategic thinking to train citizens, grow the economy, promote industrial development, and ensure that national sovereignty remains protected. He assured participants that their research on “Harnessing Indigenous Manufacturing for Enhanced National Security by 2040” would be carefully considered for policy implementation.

Tinubu reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening defence institutions and producing strategic leaders capable of navigating Nigeria’s evolving security landscape. He encouraged deep analytical thinking, urging participants to study global practices and critically evaluate national challenges to shape a sustainable future.

Regarding the permanent site of the college, which has been stalled since 2010, the President asked participants to exercise patience, promising that the matter would be addressed in due course. The Commandant of the college informed the President that Course 33, themed “Strengthening Institutions for National Security and Development in Nigeria,” included 99 participants from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, government agencies, and 23 international participants from Africa, Asia, and South America.

The Commandant further noted that the college had graduated 3,097 participants to date, including officers from the Nigerian Armed Forces, Police, and allied African nations. Captain M. A. Ahmed, leading the course team, explained that their research aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on economic diversification through industrialisation, digitalisation, creativity, and manufacturing. Study trips to 23 countries underscored the strategic role of indigenous manufacturing in wealth creation, job generation, and national development.
