One of the recipients, 48-year-old Engineer Edward Worgu from Port Harcourt, said the reward came at a critical point in his life. He admitted he initially doubted the notification until a persistent customer care representative convinced him to visit the Lagos regional office. Worgu explained that the money would greatly assist him with his wife’s medical expenses, describing the win as an unexpected and timely blessing.
Another beneficiary, 68-year-old Akindele Ayenugba from Ondo State, described the experience as miraculous. He said he travelled to Lagos despite financial challenges, and it was only upon arriving at the Glo office and receiving congratulatory messages that he realised the win was genuine. He expressed deep gratitude, calling the moment a divine intervention.
Also speaking was 39-year-old Esobe Ugwuogo from Owerri, who said his consistent participation finally led to a breakthrough. He thanked Globacom for the reward and promised to encourage others to try their luck, noting that the company had proven its commitment to fulfilling its promises.
From Ibadan, 28-year-old Akintayo Boluwatife described his own win as unforgettable and transformative. He said the ₦1 million prize would significantly brighten his preparations for the upcoming festive season.
According to Nivo News, the Glo Play Up Lottery gives subscribers the chance to turn simple predictions into substantial winnings. Participants can dial *400# or send a number between 1 and 9 to 400, with each entry costing ₦100. Customers may subscribe daily or play on demand at their convenience. Weekly draws are held every Friday at 4 p.m. at the Glo Head Office, where ₦1 million winners emerge, while a monthly grand prize of ₦10 million goes to one lucky subscriber. All verified winners receive their prizes through their MoneyMaster Wallet accounts and are hosted at the nearest Glo regional office.
Globacom stated that the Play Up Lottery is part of its commitment to rewarding customers, especially during the Yuletide season. The company assured that winners are selected through a transparent raffle process, encouraging subscribers to continue playing as multiple opportunities remain open throughout the promotion.
