According to Nivo News, the actress revealed that immersing herself in work on movie sets helped her process grief and channel her emotions into creativity. Speaking on the Open Up podcast with Amanda Dara, Rosman described acting as her personal form of therapy during one of the most painful periods of her life.
She explained that losing her father inspired her to focus deeply on her craft, turning sorrow into strength. The actress also spoke fondly of her parents, crediting them as the major influences who shaped her values and outlook on life.
Rosman shared that she strives daily to become a better version of her parents while acknowledging the challenges they faced in their upbringing. Despite her growing fame, she maintains a grounded lifestyle by staying close to family and genuine friends.
“I was able to work away a lot of emotions,” she said. “People say time heals, but I don’t think it does. My parents have always been my true role models. They set such wonderful examples for me that I don’t desire to be anyone else, just a better and healthier version of them.”
She added that surrounding herself with the right people has been vital to staying true to herself. “My best friends are my sisters. Outside my family, I probably have about five true friends who genuinely care about me beyond the spotlight,” she said.
Born to a Nigerian mother from Imo State and a Canadian father, Sunshine Rosman began her acting journey in 2015 and has since featured in several Nollywood productions, including When Love Strikes and To Kill a Monkey.
