US Military Draws Battle Plans For Nigeria After Trump’s Explosive Genocide Allegation.
Fresh developments have emerged indicating that the United States has prepared military intervention strategies for Nigeria, following President Donald Trump’s recent comments alleging a “Christian genocide” in the country.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
President Trump, during an address on Sunday, claimed that “thousands of Christians” were being killed by “radical Islamists,” warning that Christianity faced “an existential threat in Nigeria.” According to Nivo News, he immediately instructed the U.S. military to devise actionable plans to confront those allegedly responsible for the violence.
“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” Trump reportedly said, directing the Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth, to “prepare a plan” for potential intervention.
Responding to the directive, Hegseth reportedly ordered the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) to submit a range of military options. Sources revealed that the proposed plans include three tiers — light, medium, and heavy — designed to escalate based on unfolding circumstances.
The newly appointed AFRICOM commander, Gen. Dagvin R. M. Anderson, is expected to visit Nigeria next month on what was initially planned as a routine diplomatic mission.
Under the light option, the U.S. military and the State Department would collaborate with Nigerian forces to target Boko Haram and other Islamic insurgents operating mainly in the northern region. This approach, however, faces complications tied to local ethnic, cultural, and religious divisions, as well as longstanding disputes over land use and governance.
The medium option reportedly involves drone strikes on militant camps, convoys, and vehicles across northern Nigeria. American Predator and Reaper drones would carry out these missions, supported by advanced U.S. intelligence systems capable of identifying high-value targets. However, logistical challenges persist following the U.S. withdrawal from its drone bases in Niger earlier this year, which are now reportedly occupied by Russian forces.
The most aggressive proposal, dubbed the heavy option, entails deploying an American aircraft carrier group to the Gulf of Guinea, with airstrikes from fighter jets and long-range bombers targeting militant strongholds in Nigeria’s north. Yet, this option faces significant strategic hurdles, as U.S. carriers are currently engaged in operations elsewhere, and the move has not been classified as a 2025 national security priority.
While the Nigerian government has expressed openness to U.S. support in combating terrorism, officials have maintained that any foreign military action must strictly respect the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
