Nigerian music icon and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has revealed that he has no desire to purchase a private jet despite being financially capable of doing so.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Nivo News, the award-winning producer made this known during an interview with YouTuber Habby Forex, where he emphasized the importance of financial discipline, investment, and responsibility over luxury spending.

Don Jazzy noted that many young people today spend lavishly on items they do not need, stressing that true wealth lies in wise investment and personal growth.

He said, “What I would advise young people who are making money is to cut costs on irrelevant things. Most of them spend on things they don’t really need. I have been blessed for a long time, and I can afford any type of car I want, even a private jet, but I have more important responsibilities. I have people to take care of.”

The music mogul further urged youths to prioritize investing in themselves by acquiring useful skills and knowledge, rather than seeking unnecessary validation through material possessions.

“Nothing beats investment — different types, including investing in yourself by acquiring knowledge. Don’t be useless; go and acquire a skill. Start small, earn something, use the money wisely, and grow your brand,” he added.

Sharing a glimpse of his modest lifestyle, Don Jazzy revealed that he once owned a Land Cruiser which he used for about six years, only changing its colour and making upgrades instead of buying new cars.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, visited the Oriire Local Government Area this past weekend to meet with families and community leaders impacted by the recent kidnapping of students and teachers. The Governor expressed deep empathy for the affected families, acknowledging their ongoing anguish and anxiety. “I understand the pain and anxiety that many of you are experiencing at this moment,” Makinde stated, promising that the state remains fully committed to bringing the victims home safely.

Providing insight into the rescue efforts, Governor Makinde revealed that he is personally overseeing the operation, holding strategy meetings with security commanders twice daily—often continuing late into the night. While he noted that certain tactical details must remain confidential due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the captors, he emphasized that every possible resource has been deployed to ensure a successful rescue.

Reflecting on the nature of the crime, the Governor expressed his shock, noting that the targeting of nursery and primary school pupils is a troubling and unprecedented development in the country. He strongly urged the public to avoid politicizing the tragedy, calling instead for unity across all levels of government to ensure the safe recovery of the victims. “This is not the time to trade blame… This is a time for unity,” he asserted.

The incident follows a violent invasion of two communities in Oriire LGA on May 15, 2026, which resulted in two fatalities and the abduction of several pupils and staff. The situation has grown increasingly dire, as the suspects have previously circulated a video showing the killing of teacher Michael Oyedokun. Furthermore, recent pleas for intervention have been issued by other captives, including principal Folawe Alamu, who urged the Governor to act swiftly to save the remaining hostages.

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, recently entered a heated social media confrontation after advocating for entertainers to take a stronger stand against the country’s prevailing injustices and economic difficulties. “I can’t lie, we entertainers… we dey fk up, I won’t lie, including me. We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go,” Davido wrote, sparking a wave of polarized feedback.

While some users appreciated his call for accountability, others were skeptical of his sincerity. One user, Princess Luna, accused the singer of hypocrisy and suggested his activism was merely performative, linking him to the “City Boy” political movement. She retorted, “Na God go punish you and your family. Go and do that performative rubbish in your City Boys group chat and get out of my face with all this pretentious nonsense. Na foolish Nigerians I blame”.

In response, an agitated Davido defended himself by firmly denying any affiliation with the “City Boy” group. He reminded his critics that he has voiced disapproval of the government in the past, including during American media appearances, at which point he claims he was attacked by Nigerians rather than supported. Addressing his relationship with “ST,” Davido clarified that their bond is strictly personal and does not represent a political alliance, adding, “I’ve been friends with ST for years and that’s where it stops, and I call and complain to him all the time, even in person”. The exchange concluded with the singer sharply rebuking his detractor.
