Providing insight into the rescue efforts, Governor Makinde revealed that he is personally overseeing the operation, holding strategy meetings with security commanders twice daily—often continuing late into the night. While he noted that certain tactical details must remain confidential due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the captors, he emphasized that every possible resource has been deployed to ensure a successful rescue.

Reflecting on the nature of the crime, the Governor expressed his shock, noting that the targeting of nursery and primary school pupils is a troubling and unprecedented development in the country.
