Schneider Electric Unveils Game-Changing Solution To Boost Industrial Efficiency In West Africa.

Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager for Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa, made the remarks during the launch of the TeSys Deca Advanced contactor series, available in 115A and 150A for 3-pole and 200A for 4-pole configurations. Olaniyan explained that the new TeSys Deca Advanced was developed with the evolving demands of West African industries in mind, emphasizing uptime, resilience, and efficient deployment.
“Whether it’s mining operations in Nigeria, food and beverage manufacturing in Ghana, or water treatment facilities across the region, industrial operators face increasing pressure to improve reliability while managing energy consumption. The TeSys Deca Advanced offers an intelligent and robust motor control solution tailored to meet these challenges,” Olaniyan said.
The TeSys Deca Advanced features wide-band coil technology, accommodating voltage fluctuations from 24V to 500V AC/DC, making it suitable for environments with unstable power supply. It meets the IEC 60947-4-1 standard and supports motor categories AC3, AC3(e), and AC4 without requiring derating at operating voltages of 380V or 480V.
Olaniyan highlighted the solution’s efficiency benefits, noting that it reduces main power dissipation by 10%, achieves 50% coil inrush savings, minimizes width by 20%, lowers CO₂ emissions, and cuts operational costs, enabling industries to achieve both performance and sustainability targets.
Designed for demanding applications such as mining, water and wastewater management, HVAC systems, packaging lines, hoisting equipment, and elevators, the TeSys Deca Advanced features a three-layer ergonomic design for simplified installation and maintenance. Its Everlink technology, a patented Schneider Electric system, ensures secure, durable, and maintenance-free connections while reducing installation time by up to 75%. Direct PLC control further streamlines inventory management and operational processes.
Olaniyan added that the digital-ready contactor supports predictive maintenance through real-time diagnostics, allowing businesses to anticipate issues, avoid unplanned downtime, and extend equipment lifespan. By enabling smarter motor control and real-time insights, the TeSys Deca Advanced supports connected, efficient, and sustainable industrial operations in West Africa.
