Kogi West Throws Massive Support Behind Tinubu, Ododo For 2027 Elections.
According to reports, the Kogi West FGYB Legacy Group, representing stakeholders from all seven Local Government Areas of Kogi West Senatorial District, has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for re-election. The communique, signed by the Drafting Committee Chairman, Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo; Secretary, Tanko Mohammed; and Member, Shaibu Ipinmisho, expressed a unanimous vote of confidence in President Tinubu. The stakeholders commended the President’s bold economic reforms, initiatives to stabilize energy supply, and extensive infrastructural development nationwide. They pledged over 90 percent of Kogi West Senatorial District’s votes in future elections in recognition of his people-focused leadership.
Governor Ododo also received accolades for his leadership, particularly his achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and empowerment of youth and women. The stakeholders praised his strategic measures in addressing security challenges across Kogi State, fostering peace and stability in communities, and personally visiting troubled areas to ensure security.
Notable projects highlighted include developments at Kogi State University, Kabba, the Model Secondary School in Okebukun, township road reconstruction in Mopa and Ayetoro Gbede, and the commencement of the UK-funded College of Education (Technical) in Mopa. Stakeholders called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and citizens to support ongoing government efforts to maintain peace across the state.
The meeting reaffirmed unwavering support for the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, with a commitment to mobilize citizens behind government policies. Security agencies and local hunters were commended for their roles in maintaining safety across the district. Stakeholders further urged leaders in every LGA to encourage citizen participation in Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
Speaking at the meeting, Kogi State APC Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Bello emphasized the importance of unity among party members, commended the grassroots foundation laid by former Governor Yayaya Bello, and urged continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo. The meeting included all Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, Assembly members, federal lawmakers, and former political appointees from Kogi West, as well as former Senator Smart Adeyemi.
