Abubakar Momoh: The Grassroots Engineer Who Builds with People, Not Politics
In a political landscape crowded with noise-makers and overnight stars, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh stands tall as a symbol of consistency, credibility, and character — a man whose journey from the chalkboard to the Federal Executive Council embodies what true service should look like.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Before the titles came, before the convoy lights and microphones, there was the teacher — a young man in Etsako who believed knowledge could change destinies. In the classroom, Abubakar Momoh taught more than arithmetic; he taught values, discipline, and leadership. That early chapter wasn’t just a career — it was training for destiny.
From there, he walked the long road of politics — not as a shortcut to fame, but as a lifetime of service. First as a councillor, then as a local government chairman where he touched lives at the grassroots. The people of Etsako still recall how their “Engineer Chairman” would visit communities personally, supervising boreholes, road grading, and rural electrification. He didn’t send aides — he showed up.
When he moved to the Edo State House of Assembly, he carried that same touch of accessibility, advocating for projects that reflected the real needs of his people. Then came his elevation to the House of Representatives — where his voice resonated for development, equity, and inclusion across Edo North and beyond. His brand of politics remained the same — not elitist, not transactional, but rooted in people-first principles.
And now, as the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh has elevated that lifelong calling to the national stage — redefining what grassroots leadership means in the Renewed Hope era. From the South-South to the South-East, across the South-West, through the North-Central, reaching deep into the North-West and North-East, his ministry is driving projects that connect regions, open economic corridors, and revive communities long forgotten by the system. Roads, schools, electrification, and empowerment initiatives — all bearing the same signature of inclusiveness and balance — proving that under Engr. Momoh’s stewardship, development knows no boundaries.
It’s no surprise that his ministry’s partnerships with development agencies, such as the European Union, are gaining national attention. These are not random moves — they are the calculated steps of a man who has spent decades building bridges, not burning them.
His secret? Consistency.
His strength? Credibility.
His style? Quiet delivery.
While others wrestle for political spotlight, Momoh is busy laying foundations. While some waste energy on name-calling, he channels his into nation-building. He has mastered the art of dignified silence — that powerful restraint that only those sure of their impact can afford.
From his native Etsako to communities in the Niger Delta and far beyond, Engr. Momoh represents a new chapter in Nigerian leadership — one that values structure over showmanship, service over self-promotion, and results over rhetoric.
He doesn’t play politics with the people; he builds with them.
He doesn’t talk about change; he engineers it.
For a man who began his journey with chalk in hand and now holds the blueprint for regional growth, this is not luck — it’s legacy.
Engr. Abubakar Momoh is proof that destiny rewards diligence, and history bows to consistency.
So when the chronicles of this era are written, one thing will be clear — he didn’t just serve; he built.
And for that, the applause of history will not end in headlines…
…it will echo in the hearts of the people he lifted.

Shehu Sani Jokes PDP Crisis: Makinde, Bala Mohammed Could Face ‘Hourly Loyalty Checks’.
Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joking that the party’s remaining governors may soon have to constantly reassure each other of their loyalty.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sani shared his remark on X on Wednesday, noting that if PDP is eventually left with only two governors—Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed—they might find themselves frequently checking in with one another.
“Now that the PDP has only two governors remaining, the two will have to be calling each other every hour to be sure…with words like ‘I hope we are still together’ or ‘I hope you still dey,’” he wrote.
His comment comes amid rising tensions following a Court of Appeal ruling, which upheld earlier judgments preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the results of the party’s disputed national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, in November 2025.
The court found that the convention violated both statutory requirements and the PDP constitution, further deepening divisions within the party.

Speaking during a meeting with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Cubana clarified that the movement is not a political party, but a platform supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The unique aspect of this movement is that it’s composed mostly of young businessmen, not politicians. Our mission is to uplift our communities by educating and reorienting people about our collective path forward,” he said.
Cubana stressed the importance of unity and constructive engagement with the Federal Government. “We believe in the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As young professionals and successful entrepreneurs, we are letting our people know that we are fully behind the President and his re-election. Igbo voices must be included at the center, and divisive politics should be avoided,” he added.
He highlighted the need for regional development and connection to federal initiatives, noting, “There must be balance and recognition of every region. Our communities need access to infrastructure, gas, and rail systems.”
Cubana further emphasized that meaningful progress requires collaboration with the government. “Opposition without engagement won’t leave a lasting impact. The City Boy Movement stands on Tinubu’s mandate. Our aim is the advancement of Igbo land, and it is our responsibility to educate our people. We are solidly behind Tinubu,” he concluded.
