According to Nivo News, Jinad made the revelation in a recent Instagram video, where she recalled how Adedimeji allegedly turned down her movie offer, claiming he only preferred to feature in films involving “fortunate people.” She admitted that the remark left her deeply hurt but chose to move on with her career.
The actress disclosed that the award-winning actor blocked her for years and only unblocked her in January 2025. Jinad added that she still could not understand the reason behind his actions but decided to speak out to highlight how fame has changed the attitude of some Nollywood stars.
In her words, “There was a time I wanted to shoot a movie and I told Lateef Adedimeji he would be part of it. He told me point-blank that he only wanted to feature in movies with fortunate people. I was pained at first by his statement, but I moved on. He blocked me for like four years and only unblocked me in January 2025. I decided to speak out now, not to cause drama, but to show how some of my colleagues change once fame comes their way.”
As of the time of filing this report, Lateef Adedimeji, renowned for his outstanding performances in Yoruba movies such as Ayinla, Lisabi, and Jagun Jagun, has not publicly reacted to the actress’s allegations.
