APC Gains Momentum As 500 NNPP Loyalists Join Ruling Party.

Receiving the defectors, the Managing Director of Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, described their decision as a reflection of growing trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the APC’s progressive vision for Nigeria.
Bichi noted that the APC’s development-driven policies continue to attract Nigerians from across the country, pointing to the defection of several political leaders and governors as evidence of the party’s growing dominance. He assured the new members of equal opportunities within the party, stressing that no one would be sidelined or marginalised.
He further highlighted the Tinubu administration’s policies on food security and economic growth, adding that the Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin’s advanced irrigation initiatives align perfectly with the President’s agricultural transformation agenda.
Representing the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Kano APC Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas commended the new members for embracing the party’s ideology, assuring them of continued dedication to sustainable development across Kano and beyond.
Kano Central APC Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Ungogo, also praised the defectors, noting that President Tinubu’s policies had strengthened Nigeria’s economy and restored citizens’ confidence in the ruling party.
The defectors expressed that their decision to abandon NNPP was motivated by the APC’s proven commitment to national development and its efforts to improve the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

Reports indicate that Taiwo, a member of the gospel group Adegbodu Twins, passed away in late February. At the time, Kehinde confirmed the heartbreaking news but did not disclose the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death.
About a week later, Kehinde shared more details with visitors who came to their family home in Ibadan to offer condolences.
He revealed that Taiwo had not been suffering from any illness prior to the incident. On the night before his death, both brothers followed their usual routine. After their evening prayers around 9 p.m., they went to separate rooms to rest.
Later that night, Taiwo reportedly went to Kehinde’s room complaining of chest pain. The incident occurred around 10:55 p.m., prompting Kehinde to rush him to the hospital for urgent care.
Tragically, Taiwo’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and he passed away just minutes after arriving at the hospital.
Kehinde recounted: “He came to knock at my door at 10:55 p.m., saying he was having chest pains. I drove him to the hospital immediately, but he died a few minutes later. He was never sick.
“We went to our separate rooms after our usual nightly prayers at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28.”

Sokoto Government Clears March Salaries Ahead Of Schedule.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu authorized the payments to begin on Friday, March 13, 2026, to ensure workers can meet their needs during the festive period.
The announcement was made in a statement by Abubakar Bawa, Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House in Sokoto.
The payment will cover employees in the state civil service, local government councils, staff of the Local Government Education Authority, and pensioners across the state.
The governor also urged civil servants to remain responsible and committed in their duties, emphasizing that punctuality, dedication, honesty, and hard work are essential in supporting the government’s development efforts.
He highlighted that civil servants play a vital role in implementing his administration’s development plans, which form part of the Nine-Point Smart Innovative Agenda aimed at improving living standards and strengthening the state’s economy.
The statement further noted that since taking office, the administration has continued to pay salaries on time, cleared outstanding gratuities left by the previous government, and ensured regular pension payments.
Additionally, the government has restored monthly imprests to ministries, departments, and agencies to support their effective operations.
