According to Nivo News, Postecoglou’s tenure, which began on September 9, lasted just 39 days — one of the shortest managerial spells in Premier League history. During his brief stint, Forest failed to record a single victory in eight matches across all competitions, managing only two draws and suffering six losses.
In an official statement, the club said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.”
Postecoglou’s appointment was initially seen as a move to restore stability after a shaky start to the season, but his side struggled to find rhythm or consistency. Under his leadership, Forest secured just one point from five Premier League games, leaving the team precariously placed in 17th position — only one point above the relegation zone.
Defensive weaknesses and a lack of attacking sharpness defined his short spell. Forest conceded 10 goals from set pieces during his tenure — the most by any Premier League team in that period — and allowed 16 goals within the first ten minutes of the second half. According to Usman Abdullahi Bokani, Director of the Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, this impending threat is driven by factors such as continuous rainfall, saturated soils, rapid surface runoff, strained drainage networks, and swelling river levels. Residents in these vulnerable areas have been strongly advised to ready themselves for potential emergencies and identify secure evacuation routes.
African Action Congress (AAC) 2027 presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has cautioned citizens against falling for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s stance on reversing the fuel subsidy.
