A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Nafiu Bala Gombe has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for his recent engagement with certain stakeholders in Adamawa State. In a statement, the party described the gathering as a sham intended to manufacture a false impression of support and influence. The ADC emphasized that the meeting does not reflect the true interests of the party and urged the public and political observers to demand transparency and adherence to proper procedures in all political alliances and collaborations.
The statement further highlighted that many of the attendees were former members of the APC and PDP who had left their parties due to perceived marginalization. “The presence of these individuals raises questions about their sudden relevance in a new political setting,” the ADC noted, adding that the meeting appeared more like a publicity stunt than a genuine effort to advance the party’s goals.
“The purpose and outcomes of the meeting remain unclear, and the authenticity of the so-called Adamawa stakeholders is highly questionable,” the statement continued. “We call on the public to critically examine this development and insist on accountability from coalition leaders seeking to join the ADC.”
