Akpabio, Abbas, Dangote Lead Industry Giants To Reps’ Historic Downstream Week.
According to Nivo News, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, will lead a host of prominent figures in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry to the inaugural Downstream Week, organized by the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The high-profile event, scheduled to begin on October 13, is expected to bring together top industry players, regulators, and policymakers to deliberate on the future of the downstream petroleum sector. Among those expected at the event are the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed; President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Gbenga Komolafe; and the leadership of PENGASSAN and NUPENG.
Other key participants include the leadership of the Refinery Owners Association, Petron, Major Marketers, and petroleum distributors. Also expected are the two Ministers of State for Petroleum, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, noted that the summit will serve as Nigeria’s most influential gathering of petroleum industry stakeholders. He explained that the forum aims to create a platform where lawmakers, regulators, and investors can engage in policy discussions, enhance regulatory understanding, and explore new investment and security opportunities to advance the downstream sector.
He further described the event as a celebration of excellence in Nigeria’s petroleum downstream industry, emphasizing that it will highlight achievements, identify existing challenges, and develop sustainable strategies to promote stability and growth. Ugochinyere added that, in partnership with key industry players, the summit would drive collaboration and innovation for the continued expansion of the sector.
