He noted that the initiative reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to justice, transparency, and integrity.

He reiterated that UNIUYO’s administration remains steadfast in its mission to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
The Vice-Chancellor’s wife, Mrs. Uduakabasi Ndaeyo, commended the initiative, describing it as a bold and long-overdue step towards addressing one of society’s most pressing issues. She urged other institutions across the country to adopt similar measures in the fight against sexual harassment.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of the Board of the Centre for Gender Studies, Prof. Valerie Asanwana, described the new policy as a milestone in the university’s pursuit of equity and excellence. She explained that the document outlines a clear process for reporting, investigating, and resolving cases of sexual harassment in a transparent and victim-centered manner.
Providing an overview of the policy, Prof. Luke Eyo of the University’s Gender Advisory Board highlighted that the framework was carefully structured to promote institutional integrity and ensure that justice is served in all cases of sexual misconduct.
