Chairman of the TETfund Board of Trustees, Aminu Masari, disclosed this during the inauguration of the newly completed N1.3 billion administrative block and ICT centre at the institution. Masari, a former governor of Katsina State, revealed that out of the N7.4 billion allocated to the college, about N6.9 billion had already been accessed, leaving a balance of N462.9 million, much of which has been committed.

According to him, the total cost of the commissioned projects stands at N1,391,116,511.32. He emphasized that TETfund has consistently supported the college through infrastructure-related interventions, in line with its mandate to boost learning and research facilities in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Masari assured that the agency remains committed to sustaining infrastructure interventions across the country, noting that the projects reflect TETfund’s drive to make Nigerian institutions globally competitive in an era dominated by digital advancement and artificial intelligence. He added that the Fund is also prioritizing teacher training, entrepreneurship, and skills development to strengthen higher education nationwide.

Representing Governor Umo Eno at the event, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Umoh, commended TETfund’s interventions in both the College of Education and Akwa Ibom State University. He noted that these efforts align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the ARISE vision of the state government, both of which place strong emphasis on education as a tool for national development.

The governor lauded the interventions as a demonstration of collaborative efforts between federal and state institutions to transform education and improve the lives of Nigerians.
