Speaking during the 65th Independence Anniversary celebration in his kingdom, Omosehin described the period as a time for sober reflection and renewed dedication to peace, unity, and national development. He acknowledged that while ongoing reforms may cause short-term discomfort, they are crucial for repositioning Nigeria on the path to sustainable growth.
“Every reform comes with sacrifices, but there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, stressing that the nation needs hope, prayer, and collective commitment rather than despair. Omosehin emphasized that patriotism and shared responsibility are essential for nation-building, urging citizens to contribute in their own ways to their neighbours, communities, and states.
He noted that President Tinubu’s increased allocations to states should encourage governors and local leaders to complement federal initiatives by translating resources into tangible benefits for ordinary Nigerians.
Highlighting his grassroots empowerment efforts, Omosehin disclosed his ongoing support for youth start-ups, scholarships, and community development initiatives. He referenced his forthcoming collaboration with Bimbeads Concepts to train women and girls in Okitipupa and Irele in jewellery-making, mentorship, and market access. He also mentioned the BOF Unity Cup, slated for January 4, aimed at promoting peace, unity, and talent discovery among youths.
“When young people are positively engaged through skills, sports, or opportunities, they become productive drivers of national growth,” he said, while praying for peace and prosperity in Nigeria.
Omosehin reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with like-minded individuals to advance the development of Okitipupa, Irele, and Ondo State. He concluded with optimism that, despite challenges, Nigeria’s opportunities remain greater, and with faith in God and support for Tinubu’s vision, the nation will rise to its full potential.

Kidnap Attempt Crushed! Security Forces Intercept Criminals Targeting Exam Candidates!.

According to a DSS statement issued on Thursday, security forces acted on credible intelligence to raid an ESN armoury in the Agbani area of Enugu State. The intelligence indicated that the group planned to disguise themselves in National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniforms to carry out attacks on selected schools, intending to create a false impression of a bandit invasion in the region.
During this raid, operatives recovered a significant cache of weapons and gear, including:
-
Eight AK-47 rifles, 12 magazines, and 323 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
-
One smoke grenade launcher and two teargas canisters.
-
Various pieces of NYSC apparel, specifically 10 trousers, eight T-shirts, and four lanyards.
Several members of the organization were reportedly arrested during the operation. This follows another successful raid conducted on Tuesday by a combined team of DSS and military personnel near the Garki area of Enugu, where they seized an additional cache of arms, including a rocket launcher, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) components, three AK-47 rifles, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
These security actions follow the recent arrest of five suspected arms couriers connected to the November 21, 2025, abduction of students and staff at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri Village, Niger State.
