During a community engagement held at Lagos Mainland Local Government and Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the organisers clarified that the initiative was not a political campaign but an effort to close the communication gap between government and the people.
The Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Bada, explained that many residents were unaware of the government’s interventions at both federal and state levels designed to cushion the effects of ongoing economic reforms. She noted that the rising complaints of hardship were being addressed, with prices of goods beginning to stabilise, while urging traders to exercise fairness in pricing.
Highlighting several initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Bada cited the distribution of food palliatives, the interest-free Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), financial support for farmers, and enhanced vocational training programmes for youths, who also receive a monthly stipend of N45,000. She added that the intervention has already reached several communities, with Yaba LCDA Chairman, Emilagba Jubril, playing a significant role in ensuring fair distribution of relief materials.
The group also pointed to improvements in national security, stressing that cases of kidnapping and insurgency had reduced in recent months.
Special Adviser to the President on Agriculture, Abiodun Yinusa, assured farmers of greater access to loans and resources through the Bank of Agriculture. He maintained that continuity in governance was crucial for the full realisation of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Similarly, at Itire-Ikate LCDA, the council chairman, Oluwafemi Daniel, described President Tinubu as “a man of the people” whose policies were already bringing visible transformation across the nation.
