The People’s Elephant appeared to have seized control of the contest early on when an own goal in the 12th minute handed them the advantage. But the Lagos-based side responded almost immediately, with in-form striker Joseph Arumala leveling the score in the 17th minute. The forward latched onto a brilliant pass from Kelechi and fired home a composed first-time finish, marking his second consecutive home goal to the delight of the home crowd.

The equalizer sparked an intense battle, with both teams trading attacks in search of a decisive goal. Enyimba showcased flashes of their trademark attacking flair, but Ikorodu City held their ground, making timely substitutions to maintain energy and defensive discipline.

As the game wore on, both sides created opportunities, but neither could capitalize. Enyimba pressed late in the second half, only to be frustrated by Ikorodu City’s organized backline, while the hosts also squandered half-chances that could have tilted the result in their favor.

According to Nivo News, the draw preserved Enyimba’s unbeaten run this season, though it marked their third stalemate in six matches. They now sit second on the NPFL table with 12 points, just one behind leaders Nasarawa United.

Ikorodu City, meanwhile, continue to find their footing in the top flight. The result leaves them mid-table on seven points from six matches, with four draws already recorded in their debut campaign.
