EFCC Issues Wanted Alert For Sujimoto CEO Over Alleged Money Laundering
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Lagos-based businessman Olasijibomi Ogundele wanted in connection with alleged diversion of funds and money laundering.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a public notice released on Friday through its official X account, and signed by Head of Media and Publicity Dele Oyewale, the Commission appealed to anyone with credible information about Ogundele’s whereabouts to come forward.
The statement read, “The public is hereby notified that Olasijibomi Ogundele of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of diversion of funds and money laundering. Ogundele is a 44-year-old indigene of Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State. His last known address is G29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State. Anyone with information regarding his location should contact the Commission at any of its offices nationwide, via 08093322644, email info@efcc.gov.ng, or report to the nearest police station or security agency.”
Ogundele, the founder and CEO of Sujimoto Luxury Construction, is renowned for high-end real estate developments in Lagos, particularly in Ikoyi and Banana Island. The company has established a strong presence in Nigeria’s luxury property market, with projects valued in billions of naira.
Although the EFCC has not disclosed the precise amount allegedly diverted, the declaration indicates that Ogundele is under investigation for significant financial crimes. The notice also reflects the Commission’s growing focus on high-profile individuals in the private sector suspected of laundering illicit funds through real estate and luxury investments.
The EFCC has previously pledged to combat money laundering and prosecute those implicated, whether in politics, civil service, or the private sector, including Nigeria’s booming property market, which has often been cited as a channel for concealing proceeds of corruption.
