David Luiz has distanced himself from allegations of infidelity and inappropriate advances made by Brazilian woman Karol Cavalcante.
Cavalcante alleged that Luiz, who lives with his partner Bruna Loureiro and their two children, initiated flirty Instagram conversations in vanish mode. Speaking to journalist Leo Dias, she claimed their exchanges became more intimate over time and even alleged that the former Paris Saint-Germain defender once proposed a threesome involving her friend.
“We started talking, and as the days went by, the exchange of messages became more frequent,” Cavalcante said, according to Nivo News. “After our first meeting in Fortaleza, we continued speaking on Instagram in vanish mode. He even suggested doing a threesome with my friend, but I didn’t want to get involved. I began to notice an aggressive attitude, which made me insecure and worried. He always hinted he could do something with me.”
The accusations stirred controversy in Brazil, prompting Luiz to issue a statement through his representatives at ALOB Sports. The 36-year-old centre-back firmly denied the claims, maintaining that Cavalcante had been the one to initiate contact.
“Before any interaction, the player received intimate images from the person mentioned on several occasions, sent to provoke his attention. After some time, and only briefly, David responded with messages, but there was never any in-person meeting between them,” the statement said.
It further added: “David Luiz reiterates his commitment to the truth and is confident that the facts will be properly clarified.”
Luiz, renowned for his spells at Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain, currently plays for Cypriot First Division club Pafos.
