In a statement issued late Thursday, Tinubu assured citizens that the newly signed tax laws, set to take effect in January 2026, will not impose additional hardship on low-income earners but will instead create a fairer and more equitable revenue framework. He emphasized that the reforms aim to ease the financial burden on vulnerable groups while promoting wealth redistribution across the economy.

“A fair tax system must never punish poverty or weigh down the most vulnerable. With the new tax laws I recently signed, we have lifted this burden and created a path of equity, fairness, and true redistribution in our economy,” the President stated.

According to Nivo News, Tinubu explained that the Personal Income Tax Calculator will enable individuals to compare their current tax obligations with the rates under the new system, demonstrating how the reforms protect low-income earners, enhance progressivity, and simplify compliance. The tool is now accessible at https://fiscalreforms.ng/index.php/pit-calculator.

Reaffirming his Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu urged Nigerians at home and abroad to take ownership of the nation’s growth and trust in its potential. “Together, we are renewing hope in the Nigeria of our dreams. Take a bet on our country. Bet on Nigeria to work for you, your family, and your community,” he said.

  • Financial Incentive: Because both Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri came through the club’s Hale End academy, any future transfer fee would register as pure profit on the club’s balance sheets under football financial regulations.

  • First-Team Integration: Despite the speculation, both teenagers have already tasted meaningful first-team action for Arsenal at just 19 years old, highlighting their rapid development.

“We are not actively looking at selling those homegrown players, but if the right opportunity came up — right for them and the club — we’d obviously consider that,” Garlick stated.
