He urged indigenes of Osun, particularly those living outside the state, to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise by transferring their Permanent Voter Cards to their hometowns. “I call on Osun residents outside the state to transfer their voting cards and ensure mass participation for the retention of people-oriented leadership by August 2026. Our voting card is our weapon to prove that good governance is achievable, as Osun has witnessed over the last two and a half years,” he said.
Adeleke added that beyond voter registration, citizens must ensure they cast their ballots and safeguard them during the election. He noted that Osun State had experienced steady development under his administration, stressing that sustaining such progress would depend on active civic engagement.
“We must be prepared to stop electoral robbers if they ever attempt to thwart the will of the people,” the governor declared.
He also directed state officials, community leaders, and opinion leaders in all local government areas to mobilise residents for the voter registration exercise. Adeleke reaffirmed his government’s commitment to defending democratic rights and expressed confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission would conduct a credible and seamless process in line with democratic principles.
