Founded in the 1970s, Ranchers Bees FC was once a dominant force in Nigerian football, particularly in the northern region. The club’s most celebrated achievements include finishing as runners-up in the 1988 CAF Cup Winners’ Cup and winning the 1989 WAFU Cup.
However, years of financial difficulties and administrative challenges have relegated the team to the lower divisions of the Nigerian National League.
Reflecting on his connection to the club, Umar said, “Growing up, I watched Ranchers Bees of Kaduna, a team that developed numerous talented players. It is a source of pride and joy for us to become the legitimate owners of the club.”
The Almería striker, working alongside Bello El-Rufai—son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai—emphasizes that their mission extends beyond football, aiming to rekindle community spirit. “Our goal is to restore the club to its glory days,” Umar affirmed.
His enthusiasm is echoed by the club’s devoted supporters. “I am thrilled by the positive response from Ranchers Bees fans and the people of Kaduna. We are committed to reviving the club’s legacy and bringing fans back to the stadium,” he added.
