Soludo Breaks Silence After Private Talks With Tinubu In Aso Rock
According to Nivo News, Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has reaffirmed his long-standing friendship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that their relationship, which spans over 22 years, transcends political affiliations. “I have no apologies about it. President Tinubu is my friend. He has been my friend for 22 years and counting, so you don’t deny your friend,” Soludo said. He commended Tinubu for what he described as bold economic and structural reforms, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast on the path of progress.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governor explained that his support for the President is rooted in his belief that all progressive political parties should work together. He noted that visible public messages, including billboards proclaiming unity among progressives, reflect this ideological alignment. “It is a fundamental idea that I believe very strongly — that all political parties professing progressivism should form a broad coalition to strengthen democracy and drive socio-economic growth,” he stated.
On security matters in Anambra, Soludo revealed that his administration is implementing both “kinetic and non-kinetic” measures. He said the Homeland Security Law, enacted in January, is being enforced alongside a targeted clampdown on criminal elements exploiting the youth. The governor highlighted ongoing empowerment initiatives, including a skills training programme that has already benefited about 5,000 young people, with thousands more expected to gain financial support soon. According to him, the state is on track to produce “thousands of youth millionaires” within the next three years, with young people actively engaged in the process.
