Outrage Erupts! Aisha Yesufu Brands Police ‘Shameless Tools of Oppression’ Over Natasha’s Ordeal

Yesufu joined a group that escorted suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti‑Uduaghan to the National Assembly as the lawmaker attempted to reclaim her seat following her controversial six‑month suspension by the Senate on March 6, 2025.
During a heated confrontation at the National Assembly complex, Yesufu lashed out at the police officers stationed there for blocking citizens and even lawmakers from gaining entry, describing their actions as blatantly unconstitutional.
“One day, you will retire and find yourselves on the streets, begging the very people you are oppressing today to protest on your behalf,” she said passionately.
“At your age, is this what you want to be remembered for? Is this the kind of Nigeria you want for your own children? You are destroying their future.”
Yesufu further accused the officers of cowardice for refusing to reveal who ordered the blockade, adding:
“We respect the law, but that doesn’t mean we are cowards. This is the National Assembly—it belongs to every Nigerian. You are stopping people from entering and can’t even say who sent you. Are you truly proud of that?”
