Political Earthquake: Dele Momodu Walks Out on PDP, Names Fresh Party Platform!

Published

Publisher of Ovation Magazine and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has formally announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to reports, Momodu described the once‑vibrant opposition party as “a carcass” that has been hijacked by anti‑democratic interests, both internal and external.

In his resignation letter addressed to his ward chairman, the media mogul cited the PDP’s internal decay as his reason for leaving:

“My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight,” Momodu wrote.
“It is more honourable to abandon the carcass of the party and instead support a new political movement.”

He revealed that he and many others are now rallying behind a fresh coalition platform, stating:

“The majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC).”

Momodu closed his letter by thanking his ward leadership, saying:

“I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times.”

His exit came just hours after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also quit the PDP.

In his own letter to the PDP Chairman of Jada 1 Ward in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Atiku wrote:

“I am writing to formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.
I would like to express my profound gratitude for the opportunities I have been given by the Party. Serving two full terms as Vice President of Nigeria and being a presidential candidate twice has been one of the most significant chapters of my life.
As a founding father of this esteemed Party, it is heartbreaking for me to make this decision. However, I find it necessary to part ways due to the current trajectory the Party has taken, which I believe diverges from the foundational principles we stood for.
It is with a heavy heart that I resign, recognizing the irreconcilable differences that have emerged. I wish the Party and its leadership all the best in the future. Thank you once again for the opportunities and support.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.
