Napoli Refuse to Budge on €75M Price Tag as Osimhen Pushes for Galatasaray Move

After weeks of intense negotiations, a breakthrough in Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray now appears within reach.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Although Osimhen’s release clause expired earlier this week, Napoli have stood firm on their €75 million valuation of the Nigerian striker. Despite initial speculation that the Italian champions might lower their demands, club officials have made it clear: Osimhen will not leave for less than the full amount.

For several days, talks between both clubs stalled over payment structures and financial guarantees. Galatasaray submitted multiple offers, but Napoli remained unmoved until they were assured of full payment.

That hurdle now seems resolved. According to Football Italia, Galatasaray has agreed to provide a bank-issued letter of credit, guaranteeing Napoli will receive the entire transfer fee.

“Although the deal is edging closer, it might still take a few more days to complete due to bureaucratic procedures,” Football Italia reported.

Under the current arrangement, Napoli would receive roughly €50 million upfront, with the balance of €25 million to be paid in full by the end of 2026. Napoli are reportedly open to a slightly lower initial payment, but any reduction would require the remainder of the €75 million to be settled within a year.

Osimhen, 26, is reportedly eager to seal a permanent return to Istanbul after an electrifying loan spell last season in which he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 matches, leading Galatasaray to a Super Lig and Turkish Cup double.

His performances endeared him to the fans, whose impatience over the delayed transfer reportedly led one supporter to threaten Napoli’s vice president out of sheer frustration.

Adding to the growing optimism, popular Turkish sports presenter Volkan Kılıç posted on late Wednesday, July 16:

“A middle ground has been found in the Osimhen transfer. An agreement has been reached. I expect the Osimhen transfer to be announced by the weekend at the latest. Congratulations in advance.”

This confident statement is a sharp contrast to his earlier skepticism, when he warned that Galatasaray might pivot to Newcastle’s Alexander Isak if talks collapsed.

If all goes smoothly, Galatasaray could officially unveil Osimhen before the weekend, finally closing the curtain on one of this summer’s most captivating transfer sagas.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
