“Gbajabiamila To ADC: ‘You Can’t Unseat A Moving Train Like Tinubu!’”

Published

Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has dismissed the capacity of the newly formed opposition coalition to unseat the President in the 2027 general elections, stating that while opposition is healthy for democracy, the coalition is unlikely to succeed.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking shortly after casting his vote in Saturday’s local government elections in Lagos State, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives emphasized the importance of grassroots governance, which he said President Tinubu is deeply committed to strengthening.

“I have performed my civic responsibility at my polling unit located at Elizabeth Fowler Nursery and Primary School in Surulere,” Gbajabiamila noted in a post on his official X account. “The local government is pivotal in any democracy. If it functions as President Tinubu envisions, it will remain the closest tier to the people and directly respond to their basic needs.”

According to NIVONEWS, Gbajabiamila welcomed the emergence of the coalition—comprised of political heavyweights from various parties—but argued that the President’s impressive performance so far would make it difficult for any alliance to gain serious traction. “On the formation of a coalition, it’s healthy for democracy to have opposition. However, I doubt they can go far in achieving their target, as the President’s performance towers high,” he said.

According to NIVONEWS, the opposition bloc recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political vehicle to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next presidential election. The coalition features prominent politicians including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi, ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, and other notable figures from the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). Former Senate President David Mark and former Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola have been named as the interim National Chairman and Secretary, respectively.

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.

Reiterating JAMB’s zero-tolerance stance on malpractice, he warned candidates against bringing prohibited items into examination halls.
