Photos from the LASIEC distribution centre in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area — which also serves as the logistics base for both Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) — showed the process in full swing.
According to a report by Punch, the centre buzzed with activity as ad-hoc personnel mobilised to sort and dispatch election materials to the 14 LCDAs under the two councils. Items including ballot papers, result sheets, and other key electoral tools were prepared for deployment under tight security.
Security officers were visibly present, ensuring order and safeguarding the electoral materials and staff involved in the distribution process.
“We are fully prepared and committed to ensuring that every polling unit receives its materials on time,” said Mrs. Adeola Williams, a senior ad-hoc official overseeing the operation, in comments published by Punch.
“Our objective is to guarantee a smooth, credible election. Timely delivery of materials is crucial, and our well-trained personnel are ready to make that happen,” she added.
Observers and election stakeholders present at the venue hailed the early dispatch as a critical step towards boosting public confidence in the local government elections and reinforcing faith in grassroots democracy.
