Speaking during a monitoring exercise across various polling units, the Acting Zonal Director of EFCC Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, ACE I Ahmed Ghali, gave the assessment, noting a calm atmosphere and smooth proceedings throughout the day.
“Based on reports and firsthand information from our operatives stationed at different locations, everything has been peaceful so far. The environment is calm, and we’ve not received any incident reports,” Ghali stated.
He acknowledged that while there were minor delays in the deployment of election materials in some areas, these were within acceptable limits and did not disrupt the overall process.
Ghali also praised the orderly conduct of voters, the professionalism of electoral officials, and the vigilance of security personnel, adding that no cases of electoral malpractice had been observed.
“Everyone is conducting themselves appropriately. Voters are arriving and departing without issues. The officials are doing their jobs diligently, and the security operatives remain alert and responsive,” he said.
The EFCC confirmed it would continue monitoring the process closely until voting concludes across all polling units.
